A Childbirth Educator provides classes that are relevant to expectant or new parents.

Childbirth Educators may run a variety of classes including:

• prepared childbirth classes for expectant parents

• early pregnancy classes

• pre-conception classes

• classes specially designed for teens, single parents, women planning to have a VBAC, cesarean or epidural

• high risk pregnancy classes

• parenting classes

• breastfeeding classes

As a Childbirth Educator you can determine what format of classes you will provide, depending on the needs of your classes and what opportunities you see locally. Childbirth International will help you by providing sample curriculums for teaching your classes but you will have the freedom to teach any style or format that you feel will benefit your clients.

Childbirth Educators will learn how to teach classes that are interactive and fun, focusing on adult teaching techniques throughout their training.
